“Lé Go"

18 x 24 inches, oil on canvas.

SOLD

Sometimes still life just needs to feel like a party.

Lé Go started with a feeling: that particular Miami light at golden hour, warm amber dissolving into hazy blue, the kind of glow that makes everything feel like it's happening at exactly the right moment. From there, the composition came together the way the best parties do: a vintage Corvette, a towering martini glass, an olive, cocktail-pick palm trees standing in for the real thing, and a smiling Lego spaceman who has, clearly, figured it all out.

This piece is part of an ongoing series of still life oil paintings that find the joy in unexpected objects, where classical technique meets a little irreverence, and where the question "why not?" does a lot of the curatorial work.
